I disagree, it's a raw distance record.
Evel didn't specify a certain bike.
He said it couldn't be done, period.
Even Evel didn't try to jump the Snake River Canyon on a Harley.
Everyone likes to compare historicalto modern day.
Whether it is sports teams, motorcycle jumpers, or individual athletes.
Modern day wins every time.
Jack Nicholas would be nowhere near the top if he were playing golf in his prime today.
Don't argue with me, Jack has said this many times. So has Arnold Palmer.
The great NFL or collegeteams of yesteryear wouldn't hold a candle to today's best.
Those are just a couple of examples.
And, Evel couldn't even come close to these modern day feats.
Take it for what it was, a great record or feat at THAT time.
Evel was a showman and a pioneer.
The science of athleticism is light years ahead of what it was back then.
The modern athlete is a fine tuned machine.
And, by the way, I agree, trailers ARE for boats.

Hats off to this guy he really has guts. Evel was a pioneer and a daredevil that's for sure but IMHO Robbies in a different class all together and here's why. Robbie turned around and jumped it again. I don't want to take away anything that Evil achieved in his lifetime but I never saw Evil do that.

I'm really looking forward to him going head to head w/ Seth Enslow. That is the craziest jumper I have ever seen in my life. He did a crazy jump in Glamis and ended up pretty broken and bloody. It was an insane jump and I have never grown tired of watching that jumper...
