Richard even let his own brother go a few months ago. The guy was a real hard worker. I'm not sad to see some of the people there go, but some were great, and feel bad for them.

The "official party line" is that the Oceanside sore is closed for remodeling. They escorted everyone out of the store, one by one, and told each individual that they were being laid off and that they could NOT return to the store. Even the mechanics, they had to come back the following week to pick up their tools. That's the scuttlebutt related to me by a local shopowner as told to him by some of the former employees. It's hard times in the motorcycle industry right now. His vendors tell him that alot of shops are closing their doors.
The Biggs San Marcos store is still open however.

Used to hang out in the Oceanside HD when I was in CA in the 90's.

Most of the dealers built high dollar facilities right before the 100th anniversary do you think this was forced on them by the moco? Any one know?

Heard the other day that Oceanside is closed for good and that San Marcos store is up for sale. Some kind of a messy divorce situation. Don't know all the details. Sure hope it gets worked out. Biggs is a good dealership and hate to see it messed up.
Do any of youBiggs HOG members know anything new??

I could write volumes about this stealership since I made my first purchase in 2001. Then it was known as Harleys House of Harleys. Richard inherited the place from his former father-in-law in a divorce settlement. It's a wonder that the former swimming pool cleaner kept this business so long. He owns the land in Oceanside and it is being sold to a developer. He won't be hurting. I remember one of the first (and last) HOG meetings that I went to. Richard was telling about the importance of the dealership. The dealership came first, theemployees next, and then the customers. What a dick!He has had many loyal employees that he has screwed over. Most of the good ones just left for better things. The only employee still left from when I bought my first bike is the sales manager Johnny, who worked in parts back then. I think that maybe a couple of service techs are still there. I always had issues with theirservice dept. The last time I went there I told my friends to kick my *** if I ever went back. If you want good service in this area try the Boars Nest or Kennedy's. When I bought my last bike, I was planning on buying from Derek(who finally quit and went to San Diego Harley) when the former assbite sales manager Erik, sold the bikeout from under me. He was one of the biggest reasons people stopped going to Biggs. Rumors are that NY Mike is going to buy the dealership. If you have any coupons or gift cards, use them now. If you ever want to hear some good stories about Biggs, drop me a line. I won't shed a tear over the demise of Biggs Harley Davidson.

I was going to suggest everybody wear black, but..........

Anyway, I don't know what killed your dealership, but I hope the local HD stealer catches it............
