shifter linkage cover install.... im going to smash this thing

I know everyone that I work with is if you cant get in on the first couple of times, stop, take a break and then go back to it and 7 out of 10 times it goes right on. good luck with it though.
Yeah, I find that when things aren't going great taking a little break helps. When I come back to the job after a wee rest I have just that much more strength to break the ****amn thing when it pi**es me off once more!!!

Default Easy Fix

Just go to your local hardware store and buy a longer nut 1/4 inch( stainless steel, or chrome) and put in the back of the cover(rear of bike) and it fits great. I had mine installed within 10min. It only cost me $1.09 for the screw.

or you could just replace the ends with real heim joints for about $10.00. and if you really have to have some chrome there, go to lowes and get a piece of chrome toilet line and slide that over the metal.

You do realize this tread is over 5 years old so I bet the OP has it figured out by now.
