Wife learned on a 600 Shadow. Bought it for 2 grand, sold it a year later for 2 grand. Light, easy to pick up in case of an Oops. 600cc Shadow, 800cc Intruder, there are a lot of them out there really cheap. Easy to learn on, relatively low seat height and a lot lighter. Good Luck!
