Default Sticky wheel weights fell off

Found a post about this from 2006 but too old to repost.

Anyway, found my rear wheel weights on the garage floor today. Appears the sticky tape backing no longer stuck. I have the residue still on the wheel so I can reapply with certainty I'll have it in the same place.

Sticky weights come with adhesive already on them but for me to get more I'd have to pay to get the tire rebalanced. Seems a steep price to pay when I cold just stick them back on with more double sided adhesive. Just need to know what kind to use.

Has anyone else had this issue and what double sided adhesive did you use to restick them?

I've had a few fall off over the years. Never noticed any real difference and never had them rebalanced. But that's just me.+

Big sale at dealer tomorrow night. Guess I'll go early and see if I can scam a few new ones from them. Else I'll just leave it for now.

I would get A new stick on wheel weight . Mark the tire ( Chalk) Where
the weight was on the wheel . Clean the residue off . And install the
new weight .

I remove the stock adhesive tape and use 3M adhesive silicone. Prep the spot with lacquer thinner and apply just enough adhesive to hold the weight in place, (little to no squeeze out). I put a piece of masking tape on it over night to hold it till it cures. Remove the tape, problem solved. Haven't had one come off yet.

I had this problem. I just told the service department I needed an oz worth of weights (four squares) and they handed 'em to me.

After reading this post, I think I'll go out and write down the weights I have on each wheel. Then if I throw a weight, I'll no what to replace it with.
