Speed doesnt kill...

Being stupid kills..
Using speed at the wrong moment kills..

Not knowing how to control your motorcycle kills...

Speed thrills(used properly )
Amen.. And those that give you guff are just in denial.

+2 Time, place, skill set and sometimes luck... Just because the bike can do it, doesn't mean the biker can.

There is nothing wrong with sport bikes or speed. It's all in the throttle hand and using your head for something besides a battering ram. sounds like another Darwin award nominee to me!

Speed doesn't kill.

What kills is the rapid deceleration when you hit an object.

Hopefully he doesn't have small kids at home. Tough time of year for a kid to lose his father. 51 is a little old to be doing that crap. IMO.

Also need to remember that it's not just sport bikes, jap crap orcrotch rockets. We like to think that it's kids with new toys but I'm seeing more middle aged managers on their bigV-Twins showing off. A death is a death.
Almost 3000 people die each year in SUV Roll-over fatalities. These statistics are increasing at about the same rate as motorcycle deaths. Whether strapped in a two ton truck with an air bag or sitting on a bike, objects in motion tend to stay in motion.
I might be going against the grain here, but in the last 35 years I've done some of the same stupid stuff we're pointing the finger at. If not for the Grace of God, you'd be talking about me.

Too fast, too slow (I lost a cousin who was doing 40mph on his Road King....when 800lbs. hits your head, you don't stand much of a chance), either way someone's dead. Sad situation no matter what the circumstances........RIP

I used to be that kid. Even when I grew out of crotch rockets and went to Harleys I still had to show the crotch rockets that I could outrun them through traffic by taking the small gaps at high rates of speed and doing all the stupid stuff that you see that (now) pisses me off to watch. Now, I am glad that I got smart and don't do that stuff anymore. I stopped before something stopped me.
