What's Happened to Leather?
#71
Do a search on leater hides, I looked for some later and the good stuff is like $7-$11 a square foot and the middle grade is $4-$7 a foot and the cheaper is under $4.
So when buying a leather product and someone has it about 1/3 the price of others, just guess what grade leather they use in making it.. even the high end price products don't use the best grades sometimes....

I bought my biker jacket in 1955 at Sears for $16.00. The one with all the zippers and stars and a belt. It now has no lining, and I had to replace the zipper a few years ago, but I still wear the darn thing, and it feels good. When I put it on I am 15 again. It just looks right with my 99 Softail Custom. Oh yea, I weigh just 8 pounds less now than I did then. (170) now.

Lol, that's what I was saying, it was the second resurrected 2 yo thread I had run across that same day...

I have had a leather jacket from Legendary USA for about seven years now. It is top quality leather and made in the USA. Their website also carries Schott and horsehide jackets. Great customer service as well.
