equivilence of inch pounds to foot pounds
NO guessing, no I think...
I have a inch pound torque wrench and have foot pounds to tighten to. I was told by one person that 10 inch pounds equals 1 foot pound, but it seems that it would be 12 inch pounds to a foot pound, but I'm not interested in making a mistake.
What is the actual equivilency?
Also, is there a chart on this site that has info like this in it?

RE: equivilence of inch pounds to foot pounds
Chances are, if yours is like mine, there aren't enough inch pounds in the wrench to equate to the foot pounds you need it for. I bought mine at Sears - was the first torque wrench I ever owned. I didn't look close enough and got inch lbs, microtork, by mistake. I took it back and they swapped me for a 1/2" drive foot pound wrench.

RE: equivilence of inch pounds to foot pounds
The guy that said 10 to 1 used to be a teacher, so I had to second guess what seemed like common sense. I figured it was 12 to 1, but I also stripped my primary plug by tightening to tight before, so I am being very careful this time around.
I have a foot pound torque wrench, an borrowed the inch one for doing other things with also.
Thanks
