... So my neighbor decides to pull over into a parking lot in the park and let the tailgater pass ...
Hat off to your neighbor for having the brains and being man enough to not let the situation escalate. As far as the "old biker" is concerned ... just more proof that idiocy isn't a new problem - this particular guy is part of the reason why good portions of today's society is circling the drain.

Same thing happened to me, and it was one of my neighbors that I flipped off and his wife was in the car with him. Everytime he sees me he tries to ignore me and I smile and wave back to him.

Your buddy did the right thing. Ignore that old timer. Just because he's old and riding a bike doesn't men he got old while riding. He coulda been as green as your friend.

I notice that a lot guys whoown a Harley think for some reason or another they are tuff guys, with their leather vests and fingerless gloves, dirty hair, scagly beards, they ride from bar to bar acting tuff, rude to women, just plain ignorant. I've run into a few of them, they're all tuff guys until you stand up to them. These are the type that give the rest of us bad names, lol.

The old biker told him that the next time that happens, slow down to 5 mph and give the guy the finger. Then he said "I can see you're not a real big guy, but no one's gonna fock with you on a bike like that. Trust me."

Nice to see some of the Old Timers imparting pearls of wisdom like that to the new set. Can't wait 'til someone rides my azz.
Wisdom? Far from it in my view.Frankly, I think it's pretty stupid advice. Advice which could potentially get someone seriously injured or worse. Sadly, we live in a society where there are individuals whose moral compass has long since been shot to hell. Nowadays, folks don't think twice about what might arise (consequences/ramifications) as a result of their actions. They just don't care. They'd sooner go to jail to prove a point than to look at you. When in any vehicle - but especially when on a bike - it's the ultimate responsibility of the rider to do everything he possibly can to avoid, deter, and minimize any and all risks. And yes, this would include not purposelyantagonizing a fellow motorist; regardless of reason and/or cause. Just my take.

I'm an old biker and I think thats pretty stupid advice. I don't think I would have become an old biker if I had followed it.

You guys are kidding, right?? Damn, grow some stones and stand up for yourselves and your right to be on the road. Every time youroll over and give into one of these a$$hats, you give them the impression that bikers are pu$$y's, andembolden themto not think twiceand do it again to the next biker they see. If you're so afraid of being hurt, or making somebody mad.....stay home.
