Default Dark Tint windshield

Just a word of caution. If you are looking to purchase a custom shortened windshield off ebay,
STAY AWAY FROM ROAD6CUSTOMS.
I ordered a 4 1/2" windshield. I opened the package to find a piece of plastic that looks like it was cut on a jigsaw if at best. The edges still needed more sanding and polishing. These clowns couldn't even follow the lines when they were cutting the shield out of their pattern they traced.
So much for their custom parts and their so called quality control.
Road 6 Customs is a 10,000 square foot facility that specializes in customizing and manufacturing custom parts for motorcycles. Everything we sell is made IN HOUSE, and not by the lowest bidder. Our quality control is our number one concern, leading to satisfied customers.
I live and learn. You get what you pay for. This was the worst $23 dollars I ever spent. I won't even bother to have them replace it. It's not worth the effort.
Just thought I'd give a heads up so nobody else gets ripped off buying a piece of trash.

Thanks for posting this. I was recently looking for a new windshield for my Ultra and checked out e-bay but have heard stories of inferior products. Decided to buy from Motosport instead.

At least it wasn't a very expensive lesson...I think I am ordering from clearview. They are more expensive but they allow you to mount your windshield and ride to try it out and if there is no damage you can send it back.Plus I have read good reveiws here on the forum.

All you had to do was ask for a replacement. Our windshields are cut with a mill bit on a CNC controlled machine. NOT with a jigsaw. We have been making our windshields out of POLYCARBONATE for a few months now. i apologize if one slipped through and you got a bad one, but if you view our feedbacks, 99% of people are VERY happy with the windshields. It is possible that the mill bit was getting worn and we didnt catch it or something if it was a little rough. Just for all of you reading this, i dont want one bad apple to scare you away. Our windshields are unbreakable, and i will give a LIFETIME gaurentee on that. I folded one in half to see if i could break it, i couldnt. i finally folded it al the way in half. Polycarbonate WILL NOT break. If anyone ever has a problem with one of our products, PLEASE give us the chance to make it right before posting a thread like this! We have nearly 4000 people that have actually left feedback on ebay this year alone, and we are at 99.6% positive. Some people cant be pleased tho.

I usually try to give a company a chance to make things right, but I can understand where the OP is coming from. Sometimes, even when you try to buy the quality product regardless of price, you still get crap. It's unfortunate how many items I've had to return, either immediately, or at some point during a warranty period. $10 items, $50 items, $1500 items, it's just a relentless onslaught of poor quality control from so many companies these days.

The focus isn't usually on perfection, or the pursuit of it, it's on volume, and the returns are just built into the business plan, and they market to the point of saturation to get enough people to buy their product, regardless of bad word of mouth.

I don't have a dog in this fight either way, so I'm not talking about the referenced company in particular. It's just frustrating keeping up w/ the stuff you own, I understand a little maintenance, and the occasional return, but sometimes like the OP said, you just don't feel like dealing w/ it anymore, and then other times you can't take it anymore and raise hell over having to return some simple to make, low dollar item, that just shouldn't have broke.

Curious, have you contacted them and if so what was their response?

Consumers force high volume, to get products to become affordable.
Quality control is what gets GOOD high volume products to market.
How many people are willing to pay what a 1-off product is really worth anyway?
Not many.
As far as this thread is concerned, it sounds like Rodent didn't give Road 6 customs a chance to make amends.
Shame on Road 6 customs for shipping shoddy work.
All that said - I priced a piece of smoked polycarbonate at my local glass shop, to cut my own. It was $20 just for the plastic!
Granted the glass shop also makes their money - I don't see how Road 6 Customs can even turn a profit!
