RE: Ricer intolerance?
This is the point I was trying to get across in my earlier post. They hate us way more than we portray to hate them here. Like I said, I work in a "Metric" shop and I get to see the "Ricer" attitude every day. Some of the members here probably weren't riding around on their Harley's back in the 70's and 80's like a few of us. They copy every thing we do now (from the V-twin motor to the figgin air cleaner on the right side). Back then they did everything to seperate themselves form Harley's. Then when they figured that Harley's were more popular they began the cloning process. Talke to any Harley owner that has been riding more than ten years and they will tell you the same thing.

I respect all bikers, regardless of what they ride. If you're broke down on the side of the road, I'm stopping no matter whether you're on a Harley, a Honda, a BMW.... That said, if you think the anti-ricer sentiment is heavy here, you need to take a quick look at the boards on sportbike.com. (Yes, I looked....but only for a couple of minutes!) There's plenty of good natured kidding and a little real animosity toward our metric brothers here. Over there is a pure, blinding hatred for Harleys, Harley riders, and the Harley lifestyle. Check it out for yourself--do a search with "Harley" in the search parameters for the subject line.
For the record, I wave at sportbikes.

It looks like Harley fans (there are some here right?) are about as tolerant as you can get after reading the drivel in this thread. I don't know...just seems sorta disrespectful to me.

I like rice under my sushi, not under my ***!
however, if you are so inclined to ride a honyamakawasuzki, by all means do so. I ride with good people, regardless of their choice in bikes.

Looks like a lot of copying going on. Harley will always lead and thats what makes them so jealous and mad.

you know, I love machines in general, be they rice, wheat or kraut..even pasta. Now I prefer my good ole Harley, but I understand that people ride what they feel comfortable with.
I have a buddy, he just bought a signature series GSXR1k, and was really proud of it. I was happy for him, and wanted to see it. I invited him to "BIKE NIGHT" here in Tucson on 4th ave. He showed up, and the parking lot was filled with Harleys, and one Yamaha (Road Star) ((MY other buddy)). Well lo and behold, Gixer Boy comes up to me 2 mins later and says he is feeling really intimidated and out of place...and he was gonna go. I told him that everyone was glad he was there..... "if its on 2 wheels, its all good" but he booked anyway. What the heck!! He was welcomed there and even got some questions about his bike...no one hazed him or anything....I guess he had to go clean out his diaper or something...friggin whiner.
