Does the adjuster know that the dealer is guessing low?You do not have touse any itemsthat are scratched due to the accident. any scratched itemcan be replaced. if you feel that the adjuster is being an a$$ contact the insurance commisioner. I had an adjuter try to lowball me a side mirror (it had some scratches so he said it had prior damage) the side mirror was ripped from the truck. I left a message stating that it was his call but in the denial letter provide his supervisors diect line. It got paid in full.

Yep, as John said. When you're holding your hand out it's not a good time to spit into the wind.

I'd like to know what carrier you're insured with also. One more thing, did you buy the policy through an agent or directly from the carrier? If you bought it through your agent and they're not being any help, then find another agent because the commission you're paying them is completely wasted, period. They should be on the phone complaining up a storm on YOUR behalf, christ, that's why you buy through an agent.

The advice on contacting the Insurance Commissioner is a great idea, carriers hate dealing with Commissioners and DOI complaints. A word of caution here though is that it is up to you to have your complaint properly documented. A general "I called them several times and got no result" is not going to cut it in most cases. You need to keep track of the dates and times of your calls, who you spoke to, etc. The more detail, the more weight your complaint will have.

Good Luck.

Definately not good to call the adjuster an idiot,,, there's your problem,,, he's stalling you probably because of your words to him.

You are right... and I was out of line. But how would you feel if you were told they were going to "fix" your frame?

I won't name the carrier on here..... but they sponsor the site and have ads with little gremlins...
I won't really blame the insurance company as they have treated me properly in the past, just this adjuster. After another phone call this evening (he actually answered the cell phone at 7PM) I think we're straight now. I'll see what he has to say in the morning.
