Default New pipes scraping ground-Help this Newbie

I recently had a set of Samson Big Gun 3, Street Sweepersinstalled on my "07" 1200 custom. They were installed by a professional motorcyclemechanic.

My issue is that I turned right, kind of tight on a slightly, very slightly mind you uphill grade and heard the bottom pipe scrape on the road very slightly on the underneath side near the turn-out of the pipe.

I don't feel that I laid the bike over too far on the turn. You can't see any mark or hardly even feel where it rubbed the ground.

I know the pipes are installed correctly. Does anybody have any experience with this issue. I'm unsure ifIlay it over on a turnany tighter will it rub even more? Any comments or experience with these pipes would be most helpful.

By the way, I love how they look and sound.

Please help,
fasthorse

See that kind of pisses me off to spend $500 on a set of pipes that will have a flat spot wore into the bottom pipe. Are you serious? Or are you just messing with me. I never would have gotten these if that were the case. When doing research on pipes, nobody ever mentioned this could happen.

Could the flat part be the result of a dropped bike?

thats just the way it is. my dyna did the same thing when i took corners, ground down my thunderheader and flattened it out the point where the primary tube was 50% of its normal size. its just the nature of the beast. i finally just took my thunderheader and chopped it up and rerouted the forward primary (see pic below). now i need to do something w/my outer primary on the other side as its almost ground through also. just have to deal with it. congrats on feeling comfortable enough to grind pipe in the corners.

Will setting the pre-load higher on the rear shocks help prevent your pipes from dragging?

if you lift the back up any... it might make the difference. I am lucky my pegs grind before anything else. I think thehuggers and sports sit up alittle higher also.

I think you'd see some marks on the pipes. You sure you didn't scrape your bolts or something else?
