Default I asked this over in the tech section

But didn't get a response so I thought I'd try it here..........................

I have a RK Classic (stage 1) and have found a 2007 Deluxe air cleaner for sale. I'd like to have it to paint and play around with and still have my chrome one.

My question is; will the Deluxe cleanerwork on my RK?

Is it just the football shaped cover? If its just the chrome cover, it probably will.

If your bike's an '07 it's got the same engine as the Deluxe. Should work just fine.

You can't take parts from a girls bike and put them on a Road King

He has the chrome and the black plastic for sale, but my bike has the stage 1. It already had it when I got the bike so I don't know what it consists of. I wonder if the covers on the Deluxe and the RK are the same size.

Go to the dealer or a rental place and take one off a deluxe on the floor and try the swap with your bike......

stage 1 (AN BS or a SE AC) is just the filter element change and the removal of the backing plate. the chrome football is the same.

it might fit if the bike it came off of was running synthetic oil,but if the previous owner of the bike was an avid harley "waver", then some retro fitting may be necessary! none the less if you keep your white walls clean it will fit!!!!!

both the AN and SE AC have a new backing plate that opens up the back of the filter. the stock backing plate has an air inlet horn (like a car's AC). these new backing plates have their own breather system. the SE uses some plastic baffles in the housing. The AN, which i highly recommend, has the breather system designed in the banjo bolts that attach the new housing to the thottle housing. the vent ends up inside the throttle body bore. much better design, and helps if you have a oil misting problem, with oil being deposited in the AC housing (which the stock and SE does.)
