I used to think a stereo was about the most useless thing you could have on a motorcycle and when I got the Road glide I tried to get them to take it off, but after listening to it on a short trip, I became a believer. Don't need it on the Dyna for short stuff but on trips it sure helps the miles fly by.

 

I tried earplugs, and they did indeed cut out the wind noise, but not the noise from my pipes which then hurt my ears.

 

Try putting some speakers linke these inside the lining of your cheekpads right over your ears and plugging into the stereo that way. I don't have a tourer but have lsitened to music like this for a long time on bikes with a full face. Before someone brings up the issue of not being able to hear I must say I have not had a problem. Now that Iwear a half helemt I don't bother with the music as it is too hard to hear with the ear buds and the wind. PM me if you want more info.

this is what i do for my stereo.. I hate those big speakers they look horrible... I make them myself they scream! and they are self amplified and work off a i pod or mp3

Full face and hear radio just fine...

 

It will actually be easier to hear with the full face.

 

I wear a full face and ear plugs on my Street Glide and can hear it just fine

 

I wear a full face in the winter. No problems here. It works great.
