Really we appreciate eveyone's comments here,, I think 07SG was just trying to help like you are,, I did try the picture disable deal myself and it speeded mine up,, but I like to look at the pics!!! Firefox has worked wonders for me,, but doesn't seem to for others,, it's way over my head on how to fix it for others and the site!!!

It seems the issue is tied to maybe several things,,, user end possibles ( spyware, adware) etc. things at this site,,, one good thing is not everyone is affected by it and maybe that's the really confusing part,,, like said admin is working on it,, we all know it's frustrating to have slow loading pages no matter what the cause is, and we are determined to get it fixed if it's this site that causing the slow down on your computer at home.
Thanks John. Disabling pics will speed up any site including ebay, but you don't need to because they load plenty fast. When everything is right pics work great. That doesn't go to the heart of the problem. It's the proverbial band aid.

Again, people who have problems on their end such as malware will have the problems at every site. If something's wrong in your box you'll see it all or most of the time.

I have no doubt these folks can fix it. I've tested it all the way to the hdforums domain controller and when I hang it appears to be a dns issue at the site. In (very) layman's terms you might calldns the index or the directory that forwards the member's request for a web pageto the proper place.

One encouraging thing is that it's been really stable for me for almost 24 hours which makes me wonder if they found something? I can't run tests when it works right, I get useful info only when it's acting up.

No complaints today and anyway, I love the site.

Thanks again,

Cliff

I'm wondering if something got fixed. The site's been fast for me for about 36 hours now. That's both in casual use and in tests.

There's still a slight hang sometimes as the request hits laxo1.mzima.net (4.71.136.2)(the main server host) but it only shows on paper. I can't "feel" it in actual use.

I keep posting reports in the off chance that the network admins are watching us.

Not many folks read/look down at the bottom of the home page,,, hence putting a link to it here! We want some input on this matter.

Thanks

- very slow.

- the headers load up fine/quick , but then the rest of the
page (ie , all the stuff that matters) takes ages to come up.

I've been very slow everytime I come to this site. I'm going to send a tracert to that link page hoping it will help. I'm on a 3mbps connection but it takes about 5 seconds for a page to load.
