Default How is a leather motorcycle Jacket suppose fit

I had a medium Arlen Ness leather motorcycle jacket and I was swimming in it. Now I have a small Ness and it is snug, not tight but snug and almost to tight with a sweatshirt underneath. My brother rides sport bikes and says it fits fine because I don't want anything flapping at cruising speed. What is the proper fitment for a riding jacket?

I think a riding jacket should be snug for that specific reson. I like to be able to fit a sweatshirt under incase it is cold though.

You need room for a couple of layers underneath it.

I actually have a couple of jackets one fits snug over a t-shirt and one is lose enough to wear a sweatshirt or my heated jacket liner under it over a long sleeve t-shirt..I also have a mesh jacket for really hot days and just a t-shirt fits under it.. ya might say I'm a man of all seasons.

Yean. I'm thinking of getting a "winter" jacket, meaning loose enough to really layer up under it.

Anyone else find that the sleeves on most of these jackets are too short?

Well, there's your problem. Probably shrunk it in the cement pond.

I have that problem with all jackets, but for a riding jacket I guess it depends on your reach to the bars. I wear gauntlet gloves with my riding jacket though, so it's not a big deal.

I have the same problem, sleeves always seem short. I buy a size larger so the sleeves fit, and I have had a couple jackets taken in on the sides for a better fit.

I also have several jackets for different seasons. Winter Leather fits with extra layers, spring and fall leather fit snug with a light shirt, summer fits well and breathes better for hotter weather.
