outlaw bikers

RE: outlaw bikers
watched both of them, I was sort of dissappointed. I thought they were gonna talk about the history, culture, partying etc of the clubs. Turned out only to be how the under cover guys infilitrated and tried to collect evidence of the clubs. It was interesting though on the clubs darker side, but I guess I was thinking it would be more of how the "biker" community has evolved over the years.
If they keep up the sieries, maybe it'll get more interesting. This is JMO of course.

RE: outlaw bikers
Watched it last nite too. Read a book that followed Dobbins and his infiltration of the Angels.
The show was OK but I also thought it would go more into the organization and culture.

Thanks for the head's-up Mudpuddle. Both aired last night here in the Sarasota area. Will air again several times in the next 2 weeks or so. Both were well done. Would make a great series.

watched it also. thought it was kinda funny that the feds didn't want to share evidence w/ the HA defence and judge refused to try the case because of it. guess they were a little worried about what else was on the tapes?

RE: outlaw bikers
Yep, both shows were about the feds becoming outlaw bikers. If you want to read more about them "Under and Alone" by Bill Queen and "Running with the Devil" about Jay "Bird" Dobyln and how he calms he became a full patched Hells Angle.

There have been lots of attempts to infiltrate clubs by the various law enforcement agencies. Some efforts didn't work out as well as Queen's. As Red Dawg said in the interview, there are a lot of guys lookin for Queen now. For them to even put him on camera for this documentary is foolish. To many people involved.

Hunter S Thompson (journalist)accountswith the Hells Angels San Bernadino and Oakland chapters for two years back in the sixties..
Even at their departure, they (hells angels) gave him a savage beating or "stomping" as it was called back in the day... over some sort of falling out between them.
from Random House's article on the book
His book "Hell's Angels A Strange and Terrible Saga" successfully captures a singular moment in American history. Hell's Angels is a gripping portrait, and the best account we have of the truth behind an American legend.

RE: outlaw bikers
From what I have heard this guy Bird was never inducted "patched" fully into any chapter anywhere. I have also heard the entire investigation was started because of the Laughlin, NV.casino shootout involving the Mongols and Angles, and at the time the FED LE thought they had the "assets" in place that could guarantee them that one or more undercover personal would get inside....then build evidence to prosecute under the RICO statute.
