Default Rear Fender Nut?

I have an 06 Fatboy and I was putting on my battery tender today, and I needed to remove the seat. I noticed that the rear fender nut looks stripped (first couple of threads) and it is a little loose[:@]. I was trying to get my hand up between the wheels to see how it is attached, but I am just too fat! Has anybody replaced one of these nuts before? Is there a trick that I am missing? I really don't want to take rear wheel off if I don't have to. Can I replace the rear bolt with a longer one if I can't get the rear fender nut off? Any help would be appreciated!

Thanks

Ifthethreads arejust stripped, get yourself a 1/4-20 tap and clean it out. This will save a lot of aggrevation of trying to fish the nut thru the bottom side of the fender.

The first thing you shoud do is set a way to attach your Tender without having to take the seat off.You will be glad you did.
