slip ons or true duals

RE: slip ons or true duals
I think the TD's would address the heat issue a bit better than just going with the slip-ons, and if you do go with a set of quality TD's like the Rineharts, or V&H TD's the performance gains will be there. I was thinking about getting a older set of SE Slip-ons for my 08' SG, but have since decided on Rinehart TD's.

RE: slip ons or true duals
for overall riding slip onsthat retain the balance pipe will offer more low end power and better cylinder scavanging because of the air/exhaust flow through the engine, one cylinder helps the other.Seperate pipes work best at high RPM when maximum flow is more desirable. It depends on how you want to use your engines power charecteristics as to which set up will work best.

RE: slip ons or true duals
Although popular for touring bikes because of the look and sound, true duals do not offer performance gains in the rpm's touring bikes are ridden at. The 2500 rpm to 4000 rpm range will suffer from less torque with true duals than slip-ons. That said, if you install a high flow breather and a tuning device at the same time as the true duals, you will get increased performance over the stock. It just won't be as much as the increase you would get if you installed a good set of slip-ons instead.

RE: slip ons or true duals
I suggest the slip-ons and a dyno tune to take care of the heat problem. True duals help with the heat, but you need a dyno with true duals anyway so avoid the loss of torque and just go with slip-ons and a dyno.
