I am looking to get a new pair of riding glasses. I want to get decenteye protectionthat will last and willing to pay a fair price for them. Please give me your opinions based on actual experience. Not looking for cheap glasses just looking for a decent pair for riding. Thanks.

WileyX, approved for use in combat to protect yours eyes against IEDs, so they work well against bugs.

They are also reasonably priced and comfortable.

Like WildBill said - Wiley X - or Panoptx. There are all kinds of knock-off's, but they tend to fog up or the seal breaks down, etc.

You can find either brand on ebay at half decent prices, plusI have a new pair of Panoptx Diablo's and Panoptx Whirlwinds for sale (there was a shameless plug if I ever heard one) thatI just haven't gotten around to posting in the "Items for sale' section of the forum.

Wiley-x JP1
Can't go wrong, and you can order prescription lenses in any color and tint, if you wish. I have used this pair for the past year, and I love-em, Wind seal is excellent.

I think you may have just missed a sale at thesportmensguide.com on the Wiley X glasses. They had them for like $20 a pair.....normally priced at about $70. A lot of guys here bought two pairs. I would check....they may still have some on sale???

I've been using Panotpx for years and find them to be highly adapted to motorcycling. They're a little pricey, but well worth the investment. I went with the Diablo CV which have transitions lenses, removable eye cups, and can be ordered RX. http://www.panoptx.com/html/va_pages...617_diablo.htm

I like my Panoptx. I would be leery of the glasses that change from clear to dark based on lighting. They don't seem to get dark enough for my liking, although they may be OK for you

I wear Oakley Monster Dogs, they are the best I have found for protection from wind.
I have tried many different ones including Wiley X's and I still go back to the Oakleys.

If you're buying glasses that are shatterproof and you need a prescription, check with your eye doctor because the Rx lenses might not bemade by the glass manufacturer, meaning that your eye protection might not end up being what you thought.
