Which brand of tire?

RE: Which brand of tire?
I'd almost call BS on that one. Never got more than 18k on a front tire on my FLHT.I've tried Dunlops, Conteninals, and Metzlers. Like the Cont. the best because I got basically the same miles but less expensive. Good tire in the rain. But I'll agree with the last guy, if you got 30k, WHY CHANGE.

RE: Which brand of tire?
Mainly thinking of changing brands on my REAR tire but I wanna keep the same brand on front and rear. Call BS if ya want my odometer reads just over 30,600 miles right now and the original tire is still on the front. I SHOULD have changed it about 500 miles ago.

On my 2003 Road Glide I was getting 13-15k on the rears and 25-30k on the fronts with Dunlaps. I refuse to change unless I find something that does better. Ichanged out the rear on my 2007 Ultraat 13k. Got 17k on the front so far. Going to shoot for at least 25k.

Do baggers get more miles out of their tires for some reason? I get about 7-8k before it's time for new tires. I'm due right now for new tires, but I'll wait until early spring to put some Metzlers on.

Metzlers are far superior handling. I can't speak to the mileage, but traction and handling are more important to me anyway. Now my old R1 got 3.8k on the rear, 7.8k on the front-and that was considered good. Not complaining-just saying....

Some folks go for mileage, others for handling. Seems to me its a good deal to sacrifice a few thousand miles and a few bucks for a good handling tire. Metzler for me.
