There is no smoother HArley than a softail with aTwin Cam B engine, way less vibration especially at idle than the rubber mounted touring bkes

I think the V-rod is the smoothest however it does lack the "classic" cruser syle.

StreetGlide(FLHX) is by far the best for what your looking for. Already has hard bags and handles better then any bagger out there.
Best selling H-D bagger 2 years running
I have to ask,,, does the SG have a different rake/trail,,, wheel base than the other tourers it's lowered correct,,, so is my SE RK? I have always thought they were the same as UGC, RK, EG???

Hmmm of all the bikes I've owned, for around town and some lite touring I would have to say a Heritage.. If greater touring then around town I would have to say the Road King... I've an Ultra now but the RoadKing I had was still a smoother ride..

Smoothest going down the road is the touring bike. Smoothest running is softail. The Twin Cam-B does not rattle your bones like on the other bikes at idle. As an in town rider for nearly 90% of my riding I am pretty happy with the softy.

I definitely prefer the Road King......but if most of your riding is going to be around town, considera Heritage.

Around town and light touring? Heritage Softail. Major touring? Heritage Softail!
