RE: need GPS unit-which one?
I still ride by smoke signals
but have been thinking about one of them fancy schmancy mapping things
I actually got one confused last night on my way home as it could find how to get to my house when on our way out but not how to get back on our return trip
so i guess you cant get there from here

Go with the 550. It has all the mounting brackets and the car adapter. Worth the extra $$

RE: need GPS unit-which one?
what is the reason you all need a gps???????????
I have ridden all over the west cost and don't see a need for one. as a rule if you get to a lot of water turn around go leftor right straight ahead mountains once again right or left works great 0$

It's cool that you don't need or want one, but that doesn't help the OP with his question, now does it?
Cheers!

Looking for a GPS unit for my bike. Does anyone have any recommendations? I want a unit that I can move from one bike to another if I want or my truck. Good graphics is a plus too. Thanks.

Love the Zumo. Get the 550. I bought the 450 and spent the difference buying the car kit that comes with the 550. Bonehead move at the time. Very easy to use with gloves and simple navigation on the unit itself and it moves from bike to cage with ease.

I bought the Garmin c330 Streetpilot. Not waterproof but a ziploc bag over it works just fine. About $400-500 cheaper than a zumo. Doesnt have all the features but for me it serves its purpose just fine.

how much do you want to spend? you can by the zumo 550 for about $600; the 450 for about $500; or the 2610 for under $200. i bought my 2610 for $150.

I have the GarminNuvi 660 also. Although I don't need all the features (language/audio book/and a couple other things...........)it does a good job of getting me from place to place.
I rode three days in the rain to Maggie Valley with the zumo behind a removable windshield and it never hick-upped.
I am using it still.....but i am keeping my eye on the Zumo 550.
