Default Who has Wild 1s 508 or 518 hadlebars?

I'm trying to figure out which bars willfit me better. I'm about average height (5'10') and ride a RK Custom. I like the look of the stock bars but they'renot the most comfortable on long trips. I wantbars that are more comfortable and fit me better while keeping the same style.I've looked around and settled on the chubbys (508 and 518). I had a chance to sit on a bike that had the 518s buthaven't had a chance to ride a bike with these bars. Everyone I ride with has ape hangers or stock RG and EG bars.

I woluldlike tohear opinions on these bars: comfort, control at slow speed, control thru twisting roads, etc. Thanks in advance.

You might want to check out Cyclesmiths's "Dressers" Handlebars. P.N.# 111SP

That's what I have.

I have Wild One 518's on my RKC '07. With the stock bars my left shoulder blade hurt and my throttle hand fell asleep. It seems to be a given that you have to change the seat and bars on a RK. My dealer wanted to sell me mini-apes but I'm really glad I got the 518s .

I ordered straight from ther company and they were great. The installation costs were pretty high though. I needed new throttle/idle and front brake cables and these were only available in stainless.

All said and done I'm really glad I made the change as my ride is really comfortable now and I can ride all day. I'm 6'3" so the 508s might be better for you.

Hope it works out swell.

518's in my sig pic below (but not in my photo album, those are my old beach bars....the 518's are much more comfortable). No question these areprobably the best set of bars I've had on a bike and I'm the same height as you, so the reach should be about the same

518's here, but on a Heritage Softail Classic. Single best comfort mod I've made to the bike. On the Heritage, I was able to use the stock cables; not sure about the Road King.

Also, be aware that the company sells what they call "Specials" at quite a discount. In many cases, the blemish is located under where the grip will be, or is so small as to be unnoticeable. You can see that page here.

I have the 508s. I'm 5' 8". I love them and they fit me well, but they do take some getting used to. Slow speed isn't a problem but sharp turns or U turns take some adjusting to.

My understanding though is that the Wild One 508 and 518 bars are very much like the standard bars on your Custom. If you don't like those I'm not sure you would like the 508s or 518s.

The 508's are similiar to what comes on the Custom, but they come back farther and are wider, so it gives you a better seating position, than the stock bars.

The 518's angle out quite a bit more, plus have a lot more pullback, so they feel quite a bit different.
