RE: harley wall plaque
When I picked up my new FXDC in September from Caliente H-D, they gave me a free skid lid (not expensive, but still a nice gesture), a free t-shirt, some other assorted cheap goodies, a VIP card (which had another free t for my birthday; free tire mount and balance; upgrade to Syn3 on any oil change; 10% of motorclothes and parts),and the possibility to win more based on a poker-based card drawing thing that they do. About a month after the purchase, I got a nice lexan plaque with my bike (correct color) super imposed over a picture of the dealership with the "Specially built for...", the type of bike, and the VIN. There was nothing particularly fancy about any of it, but it was a helluva lot more than I got with the purchase of my first bike from Alamo City H-D; I got zip from them.
The bottom line is that they made the effort to do something extra which in this day and age is harder and harder to find.

Got a really nice plaque with a photo of our bike, purchase date, our namesand vin # when we bought the bike last year. Last week got an anniversary package in the mail from our dealer with a nice card and a mug with our names on it and some type of certificate forour year anniversary of owning our bike. Our dealer has been really great with us as far as keeping in touch but not torturing us.

This is my second HD and I have never gotten one either, I wonder if you only get them when you buy new??? I am to cheap to pay for the depreciation ;0)
Oh, I did get a couple free shirts to advertise their dealership for them though, oh and I get to spend 50 bucks to have my CD player fixed at another dealer cause I found out the day after I bought it that it didn't work, and when I questioned it they said well you have the warranty, but I digress.....

My dealer sent me a really cheapo looking one. Looks like something cut out of a magazine and put into a plasticky frame. I hung it on the garage wall 'cause its not something I would show off. Now that I think about it again, I should take it back to them and "suggest" they spend a few more dollars on them or just forget it. It's actually been the only thing about my dealer i could complain about..maybe I should just be happy about that and shut up.
