I would have a hard time adding anything that would lessen my ground clearance.

I got the one from the Wheel Dock folks. Goes on in minutes, can come off just as easily, and would still allow you to mount a premium oil cooler (if you're so inclined)

How would the Harley center stand interfere with mounting an oil cooler ?. The center stand is in front of the rear wheel, the oil cooler is in front of the engine.

I do like that Wheel dock unit but It does not lift the rear wheel off the ground. The main reason I would add a center stand is to make checking the rear tire pressure easier.

that i kinda why i was posting this - i was thinking that it also might be good for flat tires and fixing them on the road when other options are not practicle. like you could use this to help get the bike off the tire.

kinda just a thought from a previous post about what to bring along for tire repair

I recall anarticle in American Rider about an aftermarket centerstand. I forgot the brand, but it was priced about the same asHarley's stand. They tester likedeverything about the stand except the fact that it contacted the oil pan when raised. Hisconcern was if the stand should impact the pan (due tolowground clearance), the stand's stoppermightpuncture the pan.I don't know if this is an issue with the HD stand, but I'd check it out before spending $300.

Curious, Why would you want a center stand. For repairs, I would think a jack would be better. When I had a metric, the only time the bike fell over was when it was leaned on while on the center stand.

If you are speaking of a shop jack, that is ok if you have one along in your tour pak while riding. Mine wont fit in my tour pak
If you are speaking of another type of jack that could easily be packed along, please fill us in.

I have one mounted in front. It works great for cleaning. Have not seen the one that mounts in the center. Only time I used mine is for cleaning.
