Default When Is the End of Riding Season?

Just put my bike into hibernation for the winter. Now, I'll be in a funk until about mid-March. I was wondering when other folks choose to go through this ceremony.

There's a season for riding??????

Seriously...we don't get snow but when it goes below 45 - 50 here I tend to shy away. I will say that 45-50 here is different then 45-50 somewhere with humidity....feels colder. If we have to ride I do it in any weather though.

I can't find it printed on any calendar or on my license. There are days, because of the weather, I choose not to ride in the summer and there are a few more of them in the winter. But, I still ride every chance I get.

Our good riding starts just about when most of the country hangs it up for the winter. Our off season is summer. We ride all summer but at the peak of the day it's on the verge of being nearly impossible.

Look forward to fall, winter and spring.

I put on far fewer miles when the temps drop and snow is on the ground. It is always nice to takearide whenever the roads are dry (no ice or snow). A calm dayand double digit Temps, IBundle up and enjoy it.

I gotta ask, WHY? That is one nice Ultra, if there is not snow, ice or salt on the road, why would you not ride? Granted, I see you are in Canada, but until it gets tto dangerous to ride (see the above) whay keep a $20k+ motorcycle in hibernation? Does not make sense to me.

We'll be heading to Tucson in Dec. Will rent an Ultra for a day or two - just like we did last year. Riding in Dec in Tucson is sweet.

We do get some funny weather in Toronto. They will put salt out for no reason and that will rust out a scoot as soon as you look at it. That said, we do get "black ice" and that can make riding "interesting". Right now, I'm in a condo, so I have to get my end-of-season oil change done at a shop. That makes timing tricky. If I'm early, I can live with that. If I'm late, I'm stuck with old oil for 3 - 4 months. I'm looking forward to next year when I move to the sticks and into a house. That way, I can keep it going until the first salt truck shows up.
