I never really put it away , but when the salt trucks come out I take a break for awhile untill the rain washes it away . Sometimes a few days sometimes a few weeks .

What's a riding season. There are times here when riding at night is a bitch (winter when it's in the 20's-low 40's and summer when the bugs beat you to death) but the only thing to keep you from riding here is the occasional snow, ice, or severe thunderstorm. But we haven't see rain in about 10 years now, so there's been a ton of good riding weather. Just try not to get dehydrated. Everything but the beer taps is drying up.

Don't know, really. This is my first year with a bike so I've got no historical track record. I do know that in a normal winter, it doesn't actually snow, rarely freezes, but the ground stays wet from now until April. I supposed I'll stay in when the salt trucks show up or it gets cold and damp enough to be miserable on the bike. Until then, I've had some of my best riding in this cooler weather because the sun's been out and it's been beautiful with the fall leaves still on the trees.
I do feel for you guys who have to put them up for the winter. I grew up in Boston, so I know what real seasons are like.

It never ends for us here in the Phoenix, AZ. area, although it can get a little toasty in the summer. I'll rephrase that, it gets hotter then HELL here in the summer.

I've never really winterized. I just dress warmer and take a ride when I won't be hitting unexpected ice. I figure if I can put up with the crappy days in the Puget Sound "summer" than I can ride on the sporadic nice days in the winter. Only fair.

Couldn't ride today had to take the truck got up to 62deg. afraid it was to hot for the bike and that the motor might seize up, you know those air cooled engines..[sm=laughingsmilie.gif]
