Silk or polypropylene pullover under a sweatshirt or any shirt. If jacket is too tight for sweatshirt or sweater, just the silk or polypropylene under garment.

I havent tried it, but Under Armor makes cold weather gear. It might be worth looking into, or maybe somebody who has used it can chime in.

I have a set of meranio(sp) wool long underwear that I have used for hunting. It is by far the warmest stuff I have worn. The top fits very nicely has thumb holes in the cuffs so it doesnt ride up the arms and the rear is longer so it doesnt ride up when you bend over.

My wife gets cold when it hits 60 degrees... We bought her an Under Armor shirt for cold weather and she's happy as ever. She wears it by itself or under a light shirt with her FXRG nylon jacket. When she was wearing her leather jacket she had to have three layers and was still chilled.

Two words, "Under Armour".

The stuff the compression cold gear is awsome, they are not cheap but are well worth the money.

1. Think like a skier - silk and under armour type stuff are thin and effective.
2. Your jacket shouldn't fit so tightly that you can't layer stuff underneath and have complete freedom of movement.

I have an angora sweater that I wear over my thermal underware. Keeps me nice and warm.
