I'd have to agree with New Mexico. It's supposed to get up to 70 degrees today here. I rode the 30 miles to work this morning it was great!

The best state to ride in is the state of mind when the engine is humming and the wind is in your face. Its all about lowering boundaries, not "bordering" us into a smaller territory than needs to be.

Please keep this thread going with comments about "your" states. We are seriously thinking of moving.
We're at the age where we've got some options, and Minnesota sucks for abikin' state. At the most we have 8 months of decent riding, often less.
I've heard the Prescott Az area is nice pretty much years around. Anyone from there?
Herr Monk, I took a trip through New Mexico way back in the early 70's. What a beautiful state you have, if you don't mind sand in your yards instead of grass.
Here's a 30 year old-picture from I25.

Northern MN, even though the season is April - Oct, the scenery is great.
I also enjoy CO. I mean really, anything more beautiful than the Rockies.

Colorado gets my vote, moved out here from Minnesota a couple years ago.
No helmet laws, though that has changed recently but mostly for the 18 or under crowd. Sure we may have the winter months, but riding out here in the summer at nearly 100* on the plains, you can escape the heat and head up tot he mountains and enjoy the great scenery, and plenty of curvy backroads. Riding through the mountains just doesn't seem to ever get boring.
New Mexico/Arizona I have to say are a very close second to me just because you could ride practically all year long!
