I agree,[sm=confused06.gif] it just seems like a Harley is meant to have all wheels on the ground! (or at least mine is) lol

Haha. Wheelies on a Harley. If you don't mind burning up some clutch, you can probably lift the front tire in first from a slow roll. I did couple times just to see if I could, but it takes a lot of rpm's and a lot of clutch. I'll have to try the 2nd gear thing once or twice for ***** and giggles.

By all means Moondognyc, I never said that a HD couldn't do it. After all I think that slow Joe proved that it is very possible on several occasions. I just don't think that I will have a need to ride a wheelie on my ride.

Last night I played and tried. Got the front a little off the ground by "flipping" the clutch, but my rear tire didn't seem to have the traction to lift the bike... What am I doing wronge.

Seriously, there seems to be some serious interest in this. Lets pound out what needs to be done to pull one off on a Harley.

Well......the first thing that see that you are doing wrong is you are spelling the word wrong wronge![sm=icon_stickpoke.gif][sm=escape.gif][sm=joke.gif]

Sorry, I couldn't resist. [sm=imsorry.gif]

I had my front wheel off the ground a few times (only about 3-4 inches) when I was racing my buddy.
Just tach it up and let the clutch fly.

I did it.

Went out to a flat open strip of road and did laps for a while. Think my shftin/clutch work is improving

Then when Iwas done I thought about givin' the ole wheelie another try.

...and... I did it. Slow roll on in first, hammer it, clutch it, pops up, comes back down.

Did it another three times in a row. I'm sure next time I try it will take another few to get the feel back.

Now, how do I keep the front wheel up?

Hey Moondog,

Sweet Springer. I want one to compliment my Road Glide. Would love to have one for a "in-towner" bike and keep the RG for long distant riding.

Man, I must be missing something here. When I think wheelies, I think of some 19 year old punk on a rice rocket with one of those mohawk-sporting full face helmets. What is the attraction of getting a wheel off the ground? And if you wanted to do wheelies, why in the fvck did you buy a Harley?

Don't get me wrong--if that's your thing, it's your thing. Just seems a bit out of place, sort of like a punk rocker at a Zepplin concert.

Seems alot of people ride their bikes "like they stole it". I choose to ride mine like I paid for it with my money ..
