What he's trying to say is "Please ignore me while a try futily to convince myself that wearing a helmet will kill me."
BTW, did I mention that you have a much higher chance of getting a girl pregnant if you wear a rubber and have only **** and oral sex with her? And you also have more chances of surviving a gunfight if you leave the bullet proof vest at home, because if you wear it, it will restrict your view downward, toward your holster. True stuff, I tell ya.

Here's something to think on (and I'm sure this will start amess [8D])
I've been in a few wrecks...mostly my own fault...but anywho... I suffered my worse head injuries while wearing a helmet. Was an Arthur Fulmer fullface. When I landed, the strap anchor inside the helmetfailed, and I ended up landing forehead first (helmetless)in some ratherlarge gravel. I still have the scars.
Go figure, eh.

I always wear one myself and I would whether law required it or not. Things happen and none of us wakes up in the morning knowing we're going to be surfing the pavement in an hour from now at 70 mph and then gets on the bike and goes out and does it. We all get on the bike assuming nothing willhappen that day, God willing.
Wear one if you want it matters not to me. Even a half-assed helmet might make the difference between being a vegetable and getting up and walking away. These tests are comparative and not perfect I'm sure. There are many variables upon impact in an accident. We hope for the best is all.

OK. I withdraw all I've ever said about helmets. This thread has proven to me that they endanger me and are a threat to my life. I've gotta go to the range tomorrow for some target practice, so I'm gonna go ahead and shoot up all my helmets and protective gear. From now on it's no helmet (Eff the law,) shorts, t-shirt or no shirt, and flip flops, no matter what the weather. I know now that I'll be safer that way, and a real biker too. Thanks for showing me the light. Can we move on to something else now, like pink vinyl chaps on nekked wimmin bikers?

Regardless of any BS you can quote, you have a better chance of surviving an accident with a helmet on than not. PERIOD. Your right to choose to wear one or not, I'm not here to judge you or anyone else on their choice to wear a helmet or not. Cherry picking information to support your argument is foolish. I'm sure I can find a study that points to cigarettes not causing cancer.

I wear a helmet when I go to buy cigarettes
