I guess I'm looking for more quiet than party . I've looked at some of the sites online but sometimes the really good places are the ones you don't hear about . Thanks
We camped out of a 5th wheel trailer (group of 10 riders with two rotating to the truck) at Sheridan Lake Campground. Very quiet, you ride past the lake on 385 but campground is far enough off the road where you don't hear the constant rumble. Here's a link to the details: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sheridan_Lake

Excellent bathing or just cooling off before startin the Bar B Q

RIDE TO STURGIS. Coming from someone who rode 5k miles round trip, I can really say that the ride is more than 1/2 the adventure.

Went the last 2 years rode the first year and took themotor home last year won't do that again the ride and not being tied down to one location is the best part also fuel cost spent over $1400.00 last year on fuel for the motor home could have stayed at several motels for the money

Jeez what a bunch of preachers...let the guy get there however he wants. Didn't ask if he should ride there or not, just where to stay.
I wish I could go myself but I can't get away from work. Sucks being low man on the roster.

I need input from some veterans of Sturgis , I'm looking to make a reservation for class A motorhome and I'm looking for advice on a good camp ground . My brother , myself and my son will be going and I have to admit I'm like an old dog my teeth are a little rounded off so I don't have much of a bite , so I guess I'm looking for more quiet than party . I've looked at some of the sites online but sometimes the really good places are the ones you don't hear about . Thanks

Far enough away from everything to get a quiet night sleep but close enough and in the middle of everything. This is Keystone SD. Mt. Rushmore is around the corner, plenty of restaurants around, gas station at the bottom of the hill. Nice RV spots and have hook ups. We've stayed at the cabins here 2 years in a row. Nice place.

He didn't ask whether to ride or not he asked where to stay in his motorhome. Just for the record the last three years I stayed at the Chip, will be there again in 08. Had no problem with anybody. The toilets and showers are much improved since 06. I ride and the wife brings the motorhome, no hookups pretty reasonable I think.

Thanks for all the input , at least I know now theres a place for us slower paced folks . I would love to ride but time is going to be critical and I just can't take the chance on being slowed by bad weather .

That's your decision man. And only you can make the best one for you. I personally do not regret riding, weather and all.

Have fun! I wish I could give you some input on a campground. I didn't need a campground, ince I stayed with some friends.
