Leather Thickness

RE: Leather Thickness
Fox Creek or Schott make some of the best quality leather products you can buy. But, they do come for a pretty penny. If you don't have the funds to buy top of the line, try leatherup.com. Their gear works for me, and many others here. I don't think you'll have an issue with the thickness of the leather.

If you want thick leather check out horse hide. I know that most of the Chciago PD wears jackets made of horse hide from some famous shop located on the southside. They are very thick and heavy. I don't know if they weigh them in ounces or not but I believe pounds would be more appropriate.

The company I got my Jacket and chaps from was the cheapest (price wise) I found. My jacket is made from Buffalo, not cowhide. You talk about THICK. The thing weighs about 15lbs. has a zip out liner and fit is good. No wind, or cold penetrates it. I don't want to advertise for em but if you pm or email me I'll tell you where I got em. I'm very happy with their products and they have alot of selection.

My Schott is my favorite jacket (I've had four leather jackets). When I put that thing on, I half expect someone is going to pop around the corner and take an x-ray.
