You all can do what you want to do and to each his own but you will NEVER and I mean NEVER!!! Will you see me on any bike but a Harley. Unless it's a bike that I built myself...

In my eyes Victory Motorcycles is a FAILURE!!! And all them metric Harley lookalikes,I just look at and shake my head.

 

I have. Not many, but a few. But then again, opinions are like a$$holes, everyone has one.

 

I had a Victory Cruiser-Was'nt bad...Was'nt great-I did like riding it around town and had no probs. with it. I also Had a Sportster too-Both Were nice-I ride an ol' Electra Glide Sport (FLHS)bagger now.

That might have been true last year but it isn't true anymore. They have shut down the plant in Ohio and moved it back to Japan.

Anyways I think the Victories are nice bikes. But I am not in the market for one. I will probably get a fourth bike next year but have narrowed my choices down to the BMW F800s, Ducati Hypermotard, KTM RC8. I don't really see the need for another cruiser.

 

Well, we seem to all be talking about Victory bikes. So there doing something right. BTW they are the fastest growing motorcycle company over the past 5 years. Of course none of you will believe that but it's true. And Victories are cheaper than HD's because they do not require the mandatory stage 1 upgrade. Stock vic's have 85-hp and 105 torque, stage one Vic's get about 98-hp and 120 torque. And BTW a stage 1 for a Victory is $600.00 installed no dyno required. They are a better buy, but you still wont like them. Well, at least HD has a better forum.

 

I think it's great Victory is improving and growing. I don't ride one, and I really do love my HD, but I'm all for Victory's growth. History has shown that the consumer benefits when there is healthy competition within an industry. The more Victory grows and innovates, the more likely they may be to challenge HD to implement some competitive innovations and improve their own product at the pace of competition. We'll see better bikes from both manufacturers if the competition becomes significant.

 

An HD is the real deal. Any other v-twin is just a wanna be subsitute.

Victorys look funny. At first glance they look Ok, but when you look at them a while they just dont look right. The tank looks odd, the proportions just dont seem right or something.

Ditto on the resale. HD resale largely driven by demand. I wont try to justify the price, the fact that I recently bought one says enough. The dealer in Dallas fills a large 3x5' bulletin board with pictures of new buyers.

Every month. That says even more.

 

I work for a Vic dealer, so i've had a chance to demo almost every model. As far as performance and ride, any Vic will kick the living shiz out of a Harley. (sorry it is what it is). Vic's however suffer from lack of nostalgic styling. Victory is trying TOO HARD to win over america's hearts as the new american cruiser. Vic's styling year after year keeps missing the mark...and they are expensive, and they have minimal aftermarket support. If you are a hard core rider who can get past the odd styling a Vic is an amazing funride....

To 80% of the MC buying public, "good looks sell" and nothing else. Thats why you will always see 5000 Harleys soldfor every single Vic sold..(at least for now)

 

I rode a victory and wasn't impressed at all. Sure, they look great, but my Dyna rides a lot better, feels much more solid, and doesn't look "plastic" like the victory does.

Mind you, I like the way the victory's look, however the lowest priced Victory was still much higher than my SuperGlide, not that price had anything to do with my decision.

Another thing I didn't like about the victory... filling it up. The cap doesn't have the recessed catch like HD does, so you have to be SUPER carefull with the nozzle or you'll be spewing gas all over the tank.

That, with the lack of service reps or dealerships in my area, sealed the deal for a Harley :-)
