There was just a documentary on his life a few weeks ago. It might have been on the History Channel.
He was a hard ridin dude and had lots of problems. Seems like he got most of it sorted out later in life. It was an interesting piece.

I used to watch him jump on TV as well. Doesn't even compare to the "freestyle" jumpers of today... look at the piece of iron he jumped with. Truly unbelievable... best daredevil in sports in my opinion.

It was set-up where he had to "nail it" or else, no built in safety margin like on todays jump bikes. Those Cerinani forks were famous for snapping right at the mid-slider lug. A road race fork not meant for jumps and wheelies.

SL3Slinger. I think there was some type of fight with the hells angels. It was at one of his jumps and I think some of the audience actually came down out of the stands and helped him out.
