Default Shifting gears?

When you shift gears, do you back off the throttle a bit , not at all, or a lot? Thanks.

I hold the thottle wide open and bang the gears without the pulling in the clutch...saves wear and tear on the clutch plates and gets me up to cruisin speed quicker so I can then roll off the throttle and get better gas mileage
