Default Oil Change without bike lift

I am planning on changing all the fluids soon before I put the bike away for winter but I don't have a bike lift. Anyone have a tip on how to do this without a lift or another person to hold the bike upright?

No lift needed- just warm it up & drain it out.

I just changed mine on my Deluxe last night. As donnylee said, NO LIFT NEEDED. I let it rest on the stand, put the pan under it and let it drain. The tricky part is the oil filter. No easy way to do that. It took exactly 3 qts of oil. Good Luck!!

Exactly, and to make it clean & easy with the filter insert a lenght of aluminium cooking foil under the filter
when you change it.Mat

When you pull the derby cover to refill the primary, you'll need to put something like a short 2*6 under the side stand to get the bike more upright.

Just leave it on the side stand, works every time.

Well, assuming you mean all the fluids, you can pull it off with a little work.

The engine and tranny are not problem, just use mustasz's idea for foil under the filter and you're fine. I've done that since they first put the filter up front.

As for the primary, just like oldgeezer said you can prop the bike up by placing something under the kickstand, but I prefer to cut a 4x4 fence post intoblocks that will support the bike on the frame rails. That way I don't have to worry about it tipping over either way. I'd give you measurements, but every bike is different.
