Default starting bike

when I start my bike with clutch in andin first gear it lurches forward a little. I've noticed too that 30 percent of the time there is a second click when letting out the clutch going through gears. Is this only needing adjustment on the clutch cable?

Sounds like you need to adjust the clutch cable a bit. Loosen it up.

I believe the manal says to put it in neutral and pull in the clutch lever when starting the bike. Will save ya a whole lot of headache in the long run, IMO.

Do not start in gear. Bad Habit to get into.

Agreed, a neutral start is easier on the drivetrain. I always start mine in neutral.

All good points about not starting in gear, but your clutch still needs some adjustment.

Yeah. Adjust the clutch cable.

All the other practices--all good habits to develop; I've learned them, too--but none will correct your clutch cable, which is what the problem is.

Always start the bike with it in neutral and clutch out.Sounds to me like the clutch is not releasing all the way.You want a 1/16" freeplay, cable housing to lever ,at handle bar
