Racing with the Wind
Question for everyone: What are riding tips for riding in the wind? I have a 07 Sporty and seem to get blown all over the road on the highwaywhen it is windy.

It is really a learned skill, just like passing an 18 wheeler or any large blocky vehicle. You learn over time to anticipate the wind, lean into it and then anticipate wind blocks and the like so you know when to come out of the lean.
The best advice I can give you is keep riding. I've ridden through a category 1 hurricane, rain and all, but never anything more than that. It can be done with practice.

I compare it alot to riding in the rain. Sometimes you will see people stopped under a bridge when it's raining and at the same time some people just ride on by. Same thing with the wind. When it gets beyond your comfort level, stop and wait it out. Trust your judgement of your riding skills and don't go beyond them.

youll get it over time i honestly think the best way to feel comfortable on the road master the mud on a dirt bike. It really dosent sound like it makes cense but when i was real young my dad taught me to ride in dirt and mud. when i was 12 i got to take his sporty on the street and remember how easy it was since then there havent been anytimes that i really felt uncomfortable. Also taught a buddy to ride in asummer by starting him out on a 4 wheels on a blaster then after he learnd gear patterns then had him riding a dual sport i had then he went and bought a street bike and he rode better than some of the guys i rode with for years. I think it takes time but i can guarantee you if you go get a couple hundred dollar dirt bike and find some dirt and mud to really play around in youll have fun and refine your riding techniques. i really cant prove that it works but has helped me i believe
