What can you use for baffle fiberglass wrap?
A while back,I read on this forum, where you can usea type of fiberglass cloth, thatcan be bought at a plumbing supply place, to wrap muffler baffles. I tried to do a search looking for the post and had no luck. Does anyone know what this cloth is called? I assume it is labeled for high temperatures.
I have drag pipes on my bike. I installed some 9" Khrome Werks HP drag pipe baffles, several months back. They didn't seem to quiet the exhaust very much and the full length of them is the same size as the ID of the pipes. This means I can'twrap them in fiberglass, to try and further quiet them.. Now I ordered some 13" long ,universal, drag pipe baffles. Thought I would experiment, by listening to the difference in sound with and without these baffles, wrapped in fiberglass.
I realize that having drag pipes I am limited to how much I can lower the sound. All I am trying to achieve is to go from outrageously loud to just loud.

check out any bike shop that sells dirt bikes or quads.
FMF sells baffle packing, its just a piece of fiberglass about 18" square by about 3/4" thick, cut it to size and wrap it around the baffle and tie it on with some steel tie wire
here is a link to dennis kirk who carries the moose brand
