Default Farthest North HD outpost

I just wanted to say that I was able to visit the farthest north HD outpost in the world. It is in Fairbanks Alaska. No, I wasn't able to ride up here! I am TDY here with the service and thought I better get a shirt while I could! The most unique shirt in my small collection by far. Would like to rent and ride up here but there is already a few feet of snow on the ground. Maybe next time!

Well, not quite. There are three dealers in Norway that are farther north than Fairbanks, which sits at 64.82N latitude.
HD Nord Norge in Ballangen 68.33N
HD Tromso AS in Tromsdalen sits at 69.65N
Alesund HD is the most northern dealer at 78.9N

I'm hoping to take a trip up to the Arctic Circle next summer. I'm glad you were able to do it.

Sometimes, a guy just has too much time on his hands.....After a week of steady rain, the sun is out. Time for a ride before winter sets in.

I stand corrected! Maybe they should change their shirts to read The Fartherst North HD Outpost in the United States. Good research.

Hey, EXAMMO, TDY with the service? Ft. Wainwright? I was stationed there 1977-78. 172nd Infantry. Had a blast.

Yup, Fairbanks is a great place (for someone else to live), that is where I bought my '02 wideglide, summer of '05 during the AlaskaState HOG Ralley

I went into the shop looking for chaps, to use on our afternoon ride, and ended up purchasing my bike... Don't ask what happened next [:-]... but the "event" was posted here in the past

We were just up there earlier this summer for this years ralley, and it was a scorcher of a weekend. We had 90+ deg, and thunderstorms too. The spruce beetles were everywhere, and I took at least a half a dozen out, while riding out to Chena Hot Springs one afternoon. One of my riding buddies had had enough bug-in-face to last himawhile... he leaped off his bike cussing[:@] as appearently they all hadhit him in the same spot on his cheek.
