I love the way it vibrates at idle then smooths right out at highway speeds.
If it didn't vibrate it wouldn't be a Harley.

 

I like the vibes etc. wouldn't mind it if it had more, nieghbor acrossed the street has an old shovelhead, that thing rattles the road but, no rubber mounts and says he is beat up after a couple hours of riding, I think HD has it down pretty good now. The nieghbor just bought a 06' Hertitage so he can ride more and is going to rebuild the shovelhead.

 

how about a shovelhead at 80 mph now thats a vibration!

 

I love the vibe.I truly believe that you only ride a metric but on a Harley (with vibe and all)you become a part of the bike as soon as you push the start button.To me,if Harley got rid of the vibe it would be like the statue of liberty without her torch.

Yeah...my nieghbor is done after just a couple of hours on that thing, in complete pain. But I rode with him one day ahile ago, I was then on a Honda, at stops watching that thing rattle, and the noise is what made me go right to the HD dealer

 

Vibration is a condition of unbalanced mechanical components. This is not considered good engineering. Think about this, would it be desirable to have wheels and tires out of balance? I think not. Things tend to beat themselves up with constant vibration. How much of it you want to endure is up to you. I for one would like to see less. In the mean time I'll continue to "drive my piles" with my Dyna.

 

The vibration at idle and smoothness at speed is the main reason I chose a Dyna over the Softail.
