Well soon it will me time around here to put the toys away and get out the skis. I'm storing both bikes inside a non-heated garage and am looking for a dust cover. Any thoughts? I've read on here a lot of guys use the Wal-Mart covers, my concern is how do they breath? Condensation here will kill the polished aluminum.

 

HD's cheapest one is $80. I bought one of off ebay that was a breathable cover for like $20 and it works well for me.

 

The wal mart cover works well but could be better designed for breathing. Just give it a shake when you walk by it to circulate some air into it.

 

Queen size bed sheets, works for me.

desiccant I just bought a cover for $75 + shipping that fully encloses the bike

I agree with Carmencip. Take an old queen or full size set of sheets and use the fitted sheet over the main part of the bike and the regular sheet over the handlebars/windshield. Works great, breathable and washable. Doesn't work worth a damn outside, but in a garage it's perfect.

 

i use old bed sheets too. i've been using the same ones for 20 years. i cut a hole in one so the antenna sticks through. the oil and dirt smell they have is just right.
