Default Unhooking battery & Alarm effects?

I need to take the cables off the battery on my '07 Sporty to add the pigtail for the Battery Tender. Will this effect the alarm system in any way? I don't want to have to go to the dealer & get it re-programmed.

Sorry for the dumb question.....

Nope no problems. I have taken my cables off my battery a few times to troubleshoot a problem I was having.

I was king of wondering the same thing.....

My 2003 FatBoy has the security system, FOB (or whatever it's called), but I've never used the system.

Wasn't sure what would happen if I pulled the battery.

Wonder if there is any easy way to remove the whole setup since I'm not using it. [8D]

I took the cables off the battery a couple of times while in the process of swapping out my bars and everything was just fine after re-connecting them.

You won't have any problem. I've disconnected my '08 (w/factory alarm) a few times without any issue.

I got a batter tender jr. for Christmas. I want to mount the "battery end" permanently. Do I need to put "lugs" on the end of the cables, or just squeeze 'em in with the other stuff on the battery?

If I'm not mistaken, the only time you would experience a problem with the alarm system is if you attempted to disconnect the battery cables WHILE THE ALARM WAS ENGAGED. Doing this would facilitate having to have the alarm reset/recoded and also result in difficulties getting the bike started up again. But if the alarm is not engaged, disconnecting the cables should pose no problem whatsoever.
