After having owned and riden just about every model Harley ever built,The Evo and TwinCam parked in my garage is all I will ever own.Don't get me wrong all the old Iron is truly irreplaceable, and they are great to Look at.My opinion!

I'd like to cop a Flathead Power repop motor and build a bobber around it, probably in a VL single loop style frame, and bastardized with an Indian leaf spring girder. The FP repop engineshave pretty much all the old "problem areas" engineered out of them. Kinda like a modern flathead on steroids.

Well - I have this

The passengers seat is not original - and have been removed since the picture was taken. Cleaned up the bike BIG TIME
Been in the family since 1939 where my grandpa bought it used
739 produced of that model : 45RL in 1934 -it is allso known as the Flying Twin
I guess not many of them are still around today - but this one is running strong. Must admit that it have not been out for the last 6 months. Today I took it out - charged the 6v battery for 10 mins - choked it, and attempted start. First kick it started. Extremly reliable but not designed for modern trafic. It has a front brake - but it is allmost impossible to reach. So braking is rear wheel only - and speeds over 45 is uncomfortable (painfull)- and it will run hot - so on longer rides I keep it under 45. Not that I really know, the only instrument is a Amp-meter
Funny thing - will NEVER sell it

Is that a pistol holster? It sure does bring back good memories,I owned 3, Flat heads, two 45's,and my first one was an 80" paid $35.00 for it in 1962.My first OHV was a 47 Knuckle 74",I thought I had died and gone to heaven with all that power.
