I personally do not like a lot of chrome. It DOES look gaudy. I do like some chrome. It's a good wayto accent certain parts of the bike.

By the way, cleaning chrome is a hell of a lot easier than painted or powdercoated parts. It just wipes off easier.

And you guys with all the black stuff know that your bike looks like crap if you don't stay on it. Just like a black car, it looks great when you first wash it, but as soon as you hit the road, dirt & dust everywhere!

 

You answered your own question: it's a matter of personal opinion.

 

Chrome, wheels, paint, doodads, bars, etc are all a personal choice.I like 'em chromed, blacked out an din between. When you look at a lot of the bikes on this forum, it is evident that a lot of guys have a very different idea of what a bike should look like, but none of 'em are wrong.

I ride the hell outta my bike for the short season we have, but also keep it as clean as possible. Even when on long road trips, my morning routine is to get a cup of coffee, a cleaning rag and some detailing mist and go over the bike. In 10k miles this year the bike has only been washed three times, the rest is detailing. It serves two purposes - one to keep it clean, two, to physically touch each part of the bike and find anything thathas worked loose or in need of attention.

 

And again ,,,to each their own..

For me I like to keep a god balance between
black and chrome or color and chrome
Too many times I have seen bikes just overloaded
with this and that, chromefor the most part.
My opinion is to build a great looking scoot
you need to learn restraint

To each his own. For instance I like wearing my wifes panties, some may find it weird, just because somebody finds it off the wall won't keep me from smiling all day long wearing my comfy pink G-string panties. You'll never see pantie lines on my jeans. What were we talking about? Oh yes, chrome. Love the stuff.......

 

Doc is a prime example of what being a chrome ***** will do to your mind after staring at all that shiney stuff in the sun too long.[&o]
