Default Neoprene masks

How well do the neoprene masks work in cold weather? I'm going on a trip next weekend, & the forcast is calling for temps in the mid 40s in the am, & low 50s in the pm. Right now all I have is a 3/4 helmet with a face shield & a half helmet. I've got a thin balaclava I use in the mornings going to work, but that's only a 2 mile trip. Anybody use the neoprene masks & will that be enough, or should I look for a full face helmet? Thanks.

on my trip to oregon I bought one of the masks made out of wet suit material it works great although like any thing else that you put over your face it will let your glasses fog untill you get moving but that is a minor inconvenience for the protection it gives..

One of the wool (nylon?) "Navy Watch Cap" thingys works for me
or something similar.
Go to a ski shopor if you are in the South go to an Army/Navy store.
I have never tried a neoprene mask.

I have a couple, but prefer a fleece gaiter instead.

I have one and it works great. Just make sure the one that you buy has little holes where your mouth is. This will let it breath and not get all wet and nasty. I have never had my glasses fog up using it either.

I've got 2 Simpson full face helmets, but they're designed for auto racing, & the periphial vision really sucks with them. I do have a fleece camo gator I use for deer hunting. I just didn'tthink that would be enough for the wind chills I'd be experiencing at hiway speeds.

They work great. Buy one for riding, they have a cutout for your nose and mouth holes. They will not fog up you glasses/goggles or what ever. I ride year round with one.
