I just bought a Balaclava and it works really well. I got it at sportman's warehouse for $12. I have a couple of summer face masks. Lighter material. I put the Balaclava on, and also put the lighter face mask on, and I was surprised how warm it was for me. It feels good against the skin. I am not a fan of rubber against my skin, so the neoprine is not what I was looking for. Plus, with the fleece ones, you can breathe out through the mask, and my glasses do not fog that much. IMO.

I like neoprene, but it does break down fairly quickly and you'll end up with black stuff on your face when it gets older. I used one for one season, then it started to break down.

I've switched over to a leather bandanna with fleece for now.

I use a leather facemask from Wolftrax. It works great down into the 30's.

I usually just pull a bandana over my face. Although I do have a full spandex type facemask with just a cutout for the eyes but it is a little too tight for my liking so I generally just wear it as a do rag,

I wear a full face, but my face still gets cold. I was wondering how these work under a full face helmet. I'll have to try it.
I wear a full helmet with a face shield and was finding my checks getting cold. Tried my hubby's balaclava under that and it was GREAT ... I just need to get one that fits me a bit better ... his was a bit too big and so it wasn't staying close to my face .. but it was still great so I would think it would work good under a full face too.
